Three stories of frustration and in all of them, there is an uncertain social background; like in Machuca, we don’t see the cause of the disgrace, but only the consequences, and in a more slanting way, its location: the centre of Santiago, its crammed buses, its night clubs, and its passages full of barber’s shop. There is in “La Buena vida” a willing of social fresh, but once more, it happens that the little misfortunes of the characters are better than the effort for turning them in something bigger.
